Hydra’s Town Hall Medal
As part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the liberation of Greece (1821-2021), Elena Votsi had the honor of designing, free of charge, the anniversary medal of the Municipality of Hydra, her homeland, an island that pioneered and greatly contributed to the country’s freedom.
On the front side
of the medal, the island of Hydra is depicted in relief, framed with engraved letters of an excerpt from the "Passport of the Greek Warships".
On the reverse side
of the medal is a detail of a ship from Hydra engaged in battle. The island's flag flies proud and free.
